Data Privacy
As legislation tightens, student personal data and learning outcomes are securely protected in Alfons.
We prioritize data security and the principles of personal data processing.
Ensuring the security of students’ personal data in a digital learning environment is paramount. As schools and learning platforms increasingly move towards digital tools, it is essential to ensure that students’ privacy and data are protected. Student personal data includes several sensitive pieces of information, such as learning-related outcomes, and if mishandled, it could cause significant harm.
Data security in digital learning environments is not just a technical issue, but also an ethical obligation. A secure environment provides students and their parents with confidence that learning can take place without concerns about data misuse.
We ensure that all student data is securely stored in local data centers. Storing data in local facilities guarantees that the processing complies with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which sets high standards for protecting personal data and ensuring data security. Alfons strictly adheres to these regulations, ensuring that data is stored properly and protected from unauthorized access, alteration, or leaks.
The EU’s Data Protection Directive emphasizes users’ rights to their personal data, aiming to ensure that data is handled transparently and securely. In some European countries, the use of learning platforms that do not meet the EU’s stringent data protection requirements has been restricted. As a result, learning platforms that store student personal data outside the EU are prohibited.
Alfons also provides municipalities and school administrations with appropriate agreements on data processing and clear guidelines on how personal data is handled within our service.
We are committed to data security and personal data protection, aiming to set an example of how the digitalization of education can be carried out safely and in compliance with the law.
